Communications Manager, Global Impact

The Communications Manager (Senior Assistant Manager/Manager), Global Impact builds and operates an integrated internal-external communications platform that advances SGH's Global Impact strategy, while aligning fully with SGH's corporate communications standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Co-develop an annual internal-external engagement and communications plan, outlining clearly the content pillars, key narratives and branding, and leverage enterprise channels and distribution network.
  • Articulate the narrative and develop communications guidance and templated decks and materials.
  • Demonstrate value of Global Impact initiatives to internal audiences by tailoring narrative and proof points.
  • Plan and deliver a cadence across existing communications channels, including SGH Grapevine, intranet news, webinars and mailers, aligned to SGH Comms calendar and standards.
  • Package cascade kits for key initiatives and enable content reuse across internal channels.
  • Elicit staff input and departmental aspirations through multi-channel engagement, synthesise insights for GIO and leadership.
  • Build a champions/liaison network across departments to share updates, surface opportunities, and co-create content.
  • Position SGH's Global Impact externally in alignment with SGH Comms direction and Amplifying Mindshare roadmap.
  • Run owned channels: SGH Global Impact web pages, newsletters, social media channels. Co-produce with or partner SGH Communications Department for the SGH Hospital of the Future podcast with
  • Commission and place thought leadership commentaries in global/public health journals, op-eds or longform for platforms like World Economic Forum Agenda, The Economist; policy briefs and case studies with SGH subject matter experts
  • Secure speaker slots, convening opportunities, and content partnerships with multi-laterals, e.g. WHO, Asian Development Bank, ASEAN.
  • Plan and execute inbound/outbound delegations including agendas, protocol, briefing packs and logistics in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Deliver programme launches and seminar/webinars, capture and publish post-event assets and close the loop with notes and next-step communications.
  • Represent SGH and GIO at working-level meetings with regional counterparts.
  • Develop a monthly dashboard (web/social, media mentions or share of voice, podcast, downloads, enquiries)
  • Contribute to brand-health efforts for priority Asian markets.
  • Execute ad-hoc assignments as directed by GIO and CCO.

Job Requirements:

a. Educational / Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public/global health, international relations or a related field.
  • Training or certification in content strategy, digital marketing and analytics, or project management is desirable.

b. Relevant Experience

  • 6-8 years in integrated communications (internal + external) within healthcare, international development, or similarly complex settings.
  • Proven editorial and channel management across web, newsletters, social media, experience coordinating podcasts/webinars/events.
  • Ability to commission, edit and place thought leadership (e.g. commentaries, op-eds, policy briefs) in partnership with subject matter experts.
  • Strong stakeholder management in a matrix reporting structure within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Comfortable with measurement and dashboards (reach/engagement, media mentions/share of voice) and using insights to refine plans.
  • Familiarity with Asia regional health context and multilateral platforms (e.g. WHO, ASEAN, ADB).
  • Working knowledge of brand standards, approvals, and compliance.
  • Experience mentoring junior contributors.
