Cloud Integration Engineer
About the Role
Step into the role of Cloud Integration Engineer and help shape the future of how devices connect and interact in the enterprise landscape. In this role, you will design, develop, and integrate scalable, secure cloud solutions and user-facing interfaces. You'll collaborate closely with cloud platform architects, external partners, and internal teams to deliver back-end and front-end components that ensure seamless device, cloud, and user experience integration.
Your work will drive seamless integration between backend infrastructure and modern front-end applications that enable secure communication, configuration, and firmware management between devices and the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining cloud architecture, including security controls for integration, API exposure, and companion modules that manage device onboarding, configuration, telemetry, OTA updates, and system health.
- Develop core backend services, cloud glue logic, and validate backend UX flows, bridging APIs, data, and user journeys
- Drive architecture reviews, contribute hands-on technical input to frontend and backend design, and enhance system reliability and scalability.
- Implement companion software modules (e.g., mobile or desktop bridges) that manage data exchange between devices and the cloud.
- Collaborate with the external development partner on design, integration, and validation to ensure quality and alignment with GN standards.
- Contribute to data modeling, system integration, and performance optimization for large-scale device management.
- Apply secure coding practices and support automation across CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
- Develop automated tests and monitoring tools, and ensure ongoing quality assurance across both backend and frontend solutions.
Qualifications
- 8+ years experience integrating cloud-native services and building distributed, user-facing applications.
- Strong programming skills in both backend (Go, Java, C#, Node.js, Python) and frontend (JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks) stacks.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in REST/gRPC API design, data modeling, and event-driven messaging (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).
- Familiarity with device connectivity (USB, Bluetooth) or firmware update workflows.
- Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and observability tools.
- Experience working with external vendors or distributed development teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to collaborate across global, cross-disciplinary teams.
- Fluency in designing and validating frontend UX flows and integrating with complex cloud backends.
Preferred
- Experience building or integrating IoT or device management platforms.
- Exposure to cross-platform companion apps (Electron, .NET, or similar).
- Successful track record integrating or designing SaaS frameworks or multi-tenant cloud systems.
- Strong design sensibility, able to translate business and customer experience requirements into clean, maintainable frontend solutions.
- Familiarity with end-to-end security, including API gateways, OAuth, and best practices for securing data in hybrid cloud environments.
