CICS Systems Programmer

Job Summary

• Responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting IBM CICS environments on z/OS mainframes

• Ensures high availability, performance tuning, and security of CICS systems

• Supports smooth functioning of online transaction processing environments

Key Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, and maintain CICS TS regions and related components

• Configure CICS system tables (SIT, PPT, FCT, RDO, PCT, DCT, TST, etc.)

• Manage CICSplex including CMAS, WUI, and MAS definitions

• Monitor CICS region health and transaction performance

• Analyze metrics using SMF, RMF, and CMF tools

• Troubleshoot abends and resolve system outages

• Configure and manage RACF/ACF2/Top Secret security permissions

• Support integrations with MQ, DB2, IMS, and Web Services

• Maintain documentation and participate in change management processes

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with IBM CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) on z/OS

• Knowledge of JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and SMP/E

• Experience with CICSPlex SM

• Familiarity with MQ, DB2, and IMS integrations

• Experience with monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON, SYSVIEW, and RMF

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in CICS system programming and administration

• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning experience in mainframe environments

• Understanding of system operations and enterprise production support
