Chinese PDF Annotation Specialist

Role Description:

The Chinese PDF Annotation Specialist is responsible for reviewing and annotating Chinese-language PDF documents according to detailed project guidelines and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and labeling key entities, structures, and concepts in Chinese text, verifying the accuracy of existing annotations, and ensuring consistency across large document sets. The specialist will follow established annotation protocols, use internal tools to track progress, and communicate with project coordinators to resolve ambiguities or edge cases. This is a remote contract role that requires reliable internet access, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Strong reading comprehension and writing skills in Simplified and/or Traditional Chinese, with the ability to interpret complex, domain-specific texts accurately.
• Proficiency in English for following guidelines, communicating with the team, and documenting decisions and edge cases.
• High attention to detail, consistency, and quality, including the ability to follow structured instructions and apply standardized labeling schemes.
• Comfort working with large volumes of text, strong time management skills, and reliability in meeting project timelines as a remote contractor.
• Access to a modern computer and stable high-speed internet connection suitable for handling and annotating large PDF files.
• Prior experience in linguistics, translation, technical documentation, or content analysis is beneficial.
