Act as the Second-in-Command and take charge of the vessel in the Master's absence; responsible for the management and safety of the Deck Department.
Responsible for cargo handling operations, including loading/unloading plans, ballasting, and pollution prevention, ensuring safe and efficient cargo operations.
Maintain and repair deck equipment such as lifting systems, jacking systems, ballast systems, windlass, and mooring winches.
Supervise deck officers and crew in maintaining navigation, lifesaving, and firefighting equipment, and ensure proper sanitation on board.
Manage nautical charts, publications, ISM documentation, and equipment manuals.
Conduct and record onboard drills (lifesaving, firefighting, security, and pollution prevention) as required by the company.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of accommodation, storerooms, and common areas with regular inspections.
Provide training, evaluation, and discipline to deck officers and crew.
Perform other duties as required by company regulations and superiors instructions.
Requirements
Valid Taiwanese Chief Officer Certificate of Competency (CoC).
Familiar with cargo planning, navigation operations, and international safety management systems.
