Job Description
Tesla's mission is to build a world of amazing abundance. The Charging Operations team ensures Tesla continues to deliver the best possible charging customer experience through proactive engagement and growth of the global charging network.
As a Charging Operations Intern with a focus on AI and process automation, you'll bring an AI-first mindset to one of Tesla's fastest-growing infrastructure teams. This isn't a traditional operations internship, you'll be expected to challenge how things are done, build automations that eliminate manual work, and use AI tools to surface insights that help the APAC Charging network scale faster. You'll work alongside regional Deployment teams, Tools & Analytics, Pricing, Vehicle UI, and global partners to turn operational friction into streamlined, scalable systems.
Responsibilities
Identify repetitive workflows and build automations (e.g., Power Automate flows, Python scripts, or AI-assisted pipelines) that measurably reduce manual effort for the team Apply AI tools to analyze operational data, surface patterns, and present actionable insights to leadership Own at least one process improvement end-to-end: from identifying the inefficiency through to implementing and documenting the solution Track and manage milestones for critical system controls across projects from planning through to completion Perform detail-oriented data validation to ensure accuracy across internal systems, including driver-facing platforms such as the Tesla Vehicle UI, App, and Web Develop and maintain process documentation that drives scalable, robust solutions aligned with Charging team goals Support the education of Deployment teams on operational processes and flag errors where identified Collaborate cross-functionally as a Charging business partner for internal teams
Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Demonstrated curiosity about AI and automation: this could be coursework, personal projects, hackathon entries, side automations, or a portfolio showing how you've used AI tools to solve real problems Active, regular use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to enhance your own workflows: we want someone who reaches for AI by instinct, not instruction Strong attention to detail and ability to identify, communicate, and resolve problems proactively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable managing multiple tasks with a focus on efficiency and prioritization Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and can work both independently and as part of a team Spoken and written proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) for APAC collaboration
