Business Summary:

External Manufacturing (EM) led by Robert Furtaw is a worldwide organization that manages a global infrastructure of external wafer foundries and assembly test subcontractors to deliver flexible manufacturing and innovative technologies that give TI competitive advantages. Currently, EM supports 23.5% of TI's NUM and 15% of TI's wafers through a broad footprint of foundry and subcons across Asia, Europe and the US. MPO EM Operation planning plays a key role as the bridge between TI and subcon in terms of forecasting & commitment, operation & delivery execution, planning index and critical escalation support to drive TI customer OTD and business growth.

What You Will Gain From This Role

  • Exposure to manufacturing processes and business models of TI subcons.
  • Gain experience across multiple disciplines including TMG/ Business Planning, WPL, Finance, Engineer and IT teams in daily operation collaboration .
  • Develop skills in managing and negotiating with subcon partners.
  • Develop knowledge and analytic skills on TI supply chain management system and subcon planning/ operation tools/ reports.
  • Develop project management skills from process/ system enhancement activities.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities to ensure continuity of supply/deliveries to our customer; facilitate and resolved all issues affecting NUM attainment and CT/ SPC/ OTD performance.
  • Manage subcons planning performance (NUM/ SPC/ CT/ OTD.., etc.,)
  • Escalate help needed/ attention timely to resolve issues specific to factories.
  • Drive concerted effort between planning, process engineering, test engineering, quality, finance, IT and WPL to ensure perfect outcome.
  • Ensure effective and adequate communication and responsiveness with/to the BU, TMG and EM & MPO management in all aspects of operation.
  • Support the team in technical challenged (unusual) situations that require in-depth analysis and planning expert intervention
  • Support cross-functional program/ project execution when needed.
  • Lead project/ initiative to drive metrics improvement & impact across the regions.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Analytics or related field
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to work as the center of operation for a subcon factory, orchestrating a cross functional resident team (Planning, Quality, NPI, Test) to communicate issues and escalate technical support help needed to address issues affecting deliveries
  • Resourceful and collaborative – work seamlessly with BU and supporting organizations (logistics, WPL, Finance, MPO central planning etc.) to drive OF improvement.
  • Attention to details and accurate in numerical analysis. Able to use planning system/ tool/ report to model and reflect actual operation performance and drive improvement. Challenge the status-quo always.
  • Able to crystalize and prioritize improvement actions under complex situations and work with subcon and cross functional team to first address urgent needs and then follow up with longer-term corrective/preventive actions
  • Monitor and report progress consistently and update management regularly; Escalate for help when necessary.
  • Volunteer to lead cross regional initiatives in your area of expertise; help others and share freely.
