Buying Manager - (Flat Knit / Denim) - (Based in China)

This leading female apparel brand with a global presence in over 20+ countries, and over 2500 store are now seeking a Buying Manager - Flat Knit / Denim to join their ever-growing business. This position is strategic all located in China, and will report directly to the Buying Director.

Job responsibilities:

• Leading a small team of up to 10 staff (buyers and technicians)
• Work closely with production team, working on buying, product development and fitting
• Lead product development by supporting the total design process and ensuring to bring the latest developments/techniques/fabrics.
• Order placement with suppliers including negotiating purchase prices, quality and deliveries, etc. to meet KPI's for margins, quality and lead-time/delivery on-time
• Develop & execute a competitive production strategy (incl. speed to market in trends and repeats) and further develop supplier based to meet the objectives
• Ensure commercial success of the responsible category
• Responsible for pricing, margin, delivery, and quality (the KPIs) over all your categories
• Work with foreign and local designers on sample developments, new trends, and fabric sourcing
• Expand supply market locally and internationally
• Ensure fit and quality remains at a high level and kept up-to-date

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in textiles or proven track record in the fashion industry
• You have at least 8 years of relevant work experience with buying/merchandising/sourcing from the fashion/garment industry.
• Experienced in Flat Knit / Denim is a must
• Strong fashion sense and ability to implement new trends in the product development process
• You have strong negotiation skills
• Strong cost control, lead time control, supplier management, and supplier resources
• You have good English skills, both spoken and written, Mandarin is a plus but not a must
• Short business travel will be required
