  • Manage the overall business performance and P&L of the department, including revenue growth, margin optimization, cost control, and budget management
  • Develop and execute annual business plans and growth strategies aligned with corporate objectives and targets
  • Monitor financial performance, forecasts, and variances, and implement timely corrective actions where required
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring clear communication, high responsiveness, and strong client satisfaction
  • Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders
  • Lead and manage the department's customer service and business development team to achieve service and commercial objectives
  • Conduct regular client review meetings, gather feedback, and drive client-specific improvement initiatives
  • Oversee contract execution and coordinate closely with laboratory managers, technical teams, and support functions to meet client requirements
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and align service offerings with evolving client needs
  • Collaborate with laboratory operations and QA/QC teams to ensure testing methodologies comply with international standards (e.g. ASTM, ISO, IP)
  • Identify, propose, and implement technical and process improvements based on client feedback and performance trends
  • Prepare and present periodic reports on business performance, key risks, and improvement actions
  • Maintain accurate records of client communications, complaints, corrective actions, and approvals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 8-10+ years of proven experience in business management, account management, operations leadership, or roles with P&L responsibility within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry
  • Experience in oil laboratory testing services is a strong advantage
  • Solid understanding of analytical equipment and laboratory operations related to petroleum testing
  • Fluency in spoken Cantonese and Mandarin, with fair written English
  • Demonstrated experience managing senior client relationships and key accounts
  • Strong client-focused mindset with high attention to detail and a structured problem-solving approach
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
