The Business Development Manager (Records Management & Digital Solutions) is responsible for driving sales growth by delivering innovative records management and digital transformation services. This role focuses on helping clients transition from physical to integrated digital record systems, streamlining content management, and implementing technology-driven solutions that enhance compliance, efficiency, and accessibility. The ideal candidate will blend expertise in records management with a deep understanding of enterprise content management, workflow automation, and cloud-based digital services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in records management and digital transformation, including enterprise content management (ECM), document digitisation, cloud archives, and automated workflow systems.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in the information governance and digital solutions sectors.
  • Build a healthy sales pipeline through active prospecting, industry networking, and lead generation initiatives.
  • Conduct high-impact solution demonstrations and presentations tailored to client requirements.

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in industries that require robust records and digital content management.
  • Assess client needs and design solutions that integrate physical and digital records strategies, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals aligned with company objectives and commercial guidelines.
  • Oversee smooth handover to implementation teams, ensuring continuity of service and client satisfaction.

Market & Industry Knowledge

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, compliance regulations, and emerging technologies in records management, information governance, and digital archiving.
  • Position the company's solutions competitively by leveraging deep knowledge of both physical and digital information lifecycles.
  • Provide feedback to product teams on market demands and potential service enhancements.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with marketing, operations, and technical teams to deliver seamless, value-driven solutions.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, account plans, and activity reports.
  • Represent the company at industry events, forums, and networking opportunities to enhance market presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Management, or related field.
  • Certifications in Records Management, Information Governance, or Digital Transformation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven sales/business development experience in records management, ECM, or digital transformation services.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets.

  • Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business benefits.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to operate with minimal supervision
