Job Description

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the IT/BA team in Taipei. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, with a specific focus on enhancing and supporting insurance-related administrative processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and designing customized solutions that improve operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and meet the strategic objectives of our insurance operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead business process planning and re-engineering initiatives, specifically within insurance operations (e.g., underwriting, policy administration, claims, commissions).
  • Conduct user interviews and workshops to understand, analyze, and document business needs and challenges.
  • Analyze and map existing administrative processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Translate business needs into clear and detailed system requirements and functional specifications.
  • Utilize UML and Use Case modeling to design effective and customized business solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and testers to ensure solutions are delivered meeting quality, time, and cost expectations.
  • Work closely with technical teams to identify, diagnose, and improve system weaknesses and performance issues.
  • Act as a key liaison between business users and the technical development team to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Ensure all solutions and processes adhere to company information security protocols and internal compliance policies.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualification & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance company operations, process planning, data analysis, or broker system-related work.
  • At least 3 years of specialized experience in insurance system business process and data analysis/planning.
  • Proven hands-on experience in administrative process planning, business analysis, and system requirement gathering.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
  • Strong practical skills in UML, with an emphasis on Use Case design.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking with a proven problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Agile and data-driven in approach and thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Native proficiency in Mandarin and professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Preferred Expertise:

  • Formal knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Experience in team management or leading project workstreams.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, procedures, and organizational processes.
