BizTalk Application Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a BizTalk Application Engineer. The role will focus on enterprise application initiatives, BAU enhancements, and the ongoing support of Microsoft BizTalk, including future modernisation or BizTalk replacement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support enterprise integration solutions using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2020 or later.
- Design and maintain BizTalk orchestrations, maps, pipelines, ports, and adapters, including performance and scalability optimisation.
- Develop backend components and integrations using C#, .NET Framework 4.7+ and .NET Core.
- Work with Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
- Support application modernisation and potential migration from BizTalk to newer integration architectures.
- Apply engineering practices including TDD, automated testing, static code analysis, code reviews, CI/CD, feature flags, and GitHub source control.
- Participate in Agile Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps delivery environments.
- Apply Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles when designing enterprise solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3-6 years of hands-on BizTalk Server experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft BizTalk 2020+ and C#/.NET.
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Good understanding of enterprise software architecture and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with OpenShift and containerised environments.
- Exposure to AWS, including S3, API Gateway, and RDS.
- Experience developing scalable and highly available distributed systems and microservices.
- Knowledge of real-time messaging platforms such as Kafka.
- Experience developing workflows using Informatica.
