Vobiz AI is Looking for:
Vobiz AI is building India's most developer-friendly Voice API platform — AI-native telephony infrastructure powering 4 million calls per day. You'll join a small, high-ownership engineering team and take on day-to-day responsibility for integrating features into the platform, monitoring production alerts, and deploying microservices on AWS.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain concurrent, high-throughput services in Go (goroutines, channels, worker pools) for call routing, dispatch, rate-limiting, and billing
- Own the data layer — write optimised SQL queries, design schemas, and manage indexes and partitioning on a large-scale PostgreSQL database (250 GB and growing)
- Monitor and respond to production alerts throughout the day using Datadog, CloudWatch, and database query analysis
- Deploy and maintain microservices on AWS ECS/EKS using Docker and container tooling; assist senior engineers with infrastructure tasks
- Integrate and harden HTTP connections with upstream services — timeouts, circuit breakers, idempotency, retry semantics
- Co-develop features in small groups, breaking down tasks and taking informal ownership of feature sprints alongside teammates
- Debug legacy Python services when needed (read and understand existing code; not expected to rewrite)
- Write unit tests and participate in code reviews
Must Haves
- 3–5 years of production Go (Golang) experience — Go must be your primary language
- Deep PostgreSQL skills: query optimisation, indexing, partitioning, schema design — at high data volume
- Experience working with large-scale datasets in production environments
- Hands-on microservices development and deployment experience
- AWS fundamentals — ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes; container tooling (Docker)
- Production debugging and observability experience — Datadog, CloudWatch, or equivalent APM tools
- Ability to read and debug Python (legacy services)
- Comfortable co-developing features in small groups and taking ownership of sprint deliverables
Good to Have
- Redis or any distributed caching service (Memcached, etc.)
- VoIP, SIP, or telephony domain knowledge (FreeSWITCH, CDRs, call routing)
- Fintech or payments-adjacent backend experience
- Reliability patterns — circuit breakers, idempotency, dedup/reconciliation, fail-open/fail-closed
- CI/CD pipeline experience — Docker builds, ECS task deployments, Terraform
