Back End Developer
[Media Lab - Backend Developer]
Responsibilities
- Design, Develop, and Maintain scalable Python-based Automation Testing Frameworks
- Validate New Software/Firmware Releases on target Devices using the latest Automated Test Suites
- Build and Optimize Multiprocessing or Distributed Services for Performance and Scalability
- Collaborate with Hardware partners to Integrate Golden Devices into the Automation Test environment
- Analyze and Triage issues related to Video Streaming products, including Pentanol Service Debugging
- Develop well-structured, testable, and maintainable Backend systems or services
- Work with global cross-functional teams to align Testing strategies and implement Automation Infrastructure
- Implement and manage concurrent processing using Python multithreading/multiprocessing techniques
- Design and maintain Automated Test pipelines with clear Reporting and Analysis
- Co-work with Google - Korea, Japan, India, Europe, Taiwan Teams, and HCLTech - Taiwan, India Teams.
Min. Qualifications (Must)
- 3+ yrs of exp. as a Backend Engineer, Software (SW) Engineer, or SW Engineer in Test
- Solid understanding of Concurrent programming, incl. Multithreading & Multiprocessing in Python
- Hands-on exp. Building or Deploying Automation Testing Infrastructure
- Proficient in Unix/Linux systems and working in CLI environments
- Familiarity w/ Video Streaming systems and related Debugging/Troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of Relational Databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and In-memory datastores (e.g., Redis)
- Ability to work independently, deliver End-to-end tasks, and Document requirements/specifications clearly
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have)
- Exp. w/ Distributed systems or High-performance Backend architecture
- Exp. in Raspberry Pi or other Single-board Computer development and Integration
- Exp. designing or maintaining CI/CD Test Pipelines is a plus
- Ability to Speak & Write in English (TOEIC >600 or eqv. cert.)
- Exp. w/ AI coding tool (e.g. Gemini CLI, Antigravity) and integrating them w/ MCP, Skills to automate & test workflows
- Understanding of Android app. dev. & tool (ADB, Android Studio)
Other qualifications
- Bilingual capability is required (Mandarin & English). Mandarin speaking/reading is essential skill in HCLTech Taiwan.
- Working location: may adjust to Banqiao - Tpark (Taipei Far Eastern Telecom Park) per Googles request
- Taiwan APRC is required w/ expat.
