Key Responsibilities
The IBG Business Finance will play the role in supporting financial management and strategic decision-making within the Institutional Banking Group. This role involves providing comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and advisory services to various IBG units, ensuring alignment with overall bank objectives and regulatory requirements.
The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Are
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare and analyse financial reports, including performance, budget vs. actuals, and forecasts for IBG business units
- Conduct in-depth financial modeling and profitability analysis for new products, initiatives, and client segments
- Generate business financials and metrics to provide actionable insights into income and risk attribution
- Ensure accurate and timely financial data submission and reconciliation
- Collaborate with IBG business units to understand their financial needs and provide strategic financial advice
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Participate in the annual budgeting, periodic forecasting cycles, and monthly flash for IBG, working closely with various stakeholders
- Monitor and track financial performance against targets, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to projects aimed at improving financial systems and data quality
Team Collaboration
- Work effectively with colleagues across finance and business functions to achieve common goals
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment
Candidate Specifications
Education/ Experience
Education: Bachelor's or Master's in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: 8-10 years of experience in business finance, financial planning and analysis, or a similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
Technical Knowledge
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis techniques.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), particularly strong Excel skills for data manipulation and analysis. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or QlikView is a plus.
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial ratios.
Domain Knowledge
Solid understanding of institutional banking products and services, including corporate lending, trade finance, and treasury products.
Working knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards.
