Audio-Visual Assistant
The Audio-Visual Services Unit (AVSU) is responsible for providing technical services for supporting the installation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment and other computing equipment in classrooms and lecture theatres of the University. Other services include providing special event setup support and technical consultation for special projects. AVSU is now seeking an Audio-Visual Assistant to join the team.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing technical support to the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of audio-visual and computing equipment in classrooms (b) conducting preventive maintenance for audio-visual equipment in classrooms (c) assisting in setup services and (d) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisors. On-the-job training will be provided. Shift duty and overtime work may be required.
Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B, or Grade C for Syllabus A) OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English languages): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, Attained or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects OR a Certificate/Diploma in Computer and Electronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines from a recognised technical institute (iii) good communication and interpersonal skills and (iv) the willingness to learn and the ability to work independently. Possession of a valid Class 2 driving licence is an advantage.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
