Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in consumer hardware.
  • Experience with media playback measurement systems.
  • Experience with consumer device media playback algo-acoustic pipelines.
  • Experience with audio measurement tools (e.g., soundcheck, audio precision, HEAD acoustics ACQUA, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7 years of industry experience in an audio related field.
  • Experience with acoustic and electrical measurement using soundcheck, audio precision, or similar.
  • Experience with headphone playback measurement systems including artificial and/real ear couplers, soundcheck, audio precision, Bruel and Kjaer, and HEAD acoustics.
  • Knowledge of headphone media playback pipelines, including equalizers, mixers and Dynamic Range Compressors (DRCs).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product, Acoustic, Algo, and Software teams to define and develop hearable audio systems and deliver solutions that meet key user experiences.
  • Own tuning, evaluation and debugging of hearable audio algorithms with focus on media playback based use cases.
  • Test, develop tools, tune strategies and automate new methodologies to launch hearable audio solutions.
  • Validate and debug audio system software, coordinate on algorithm enhancements with developers.
