An established institutional investment platform is looking to add an Associate to its growing private markets team in Singapore. The role will focus on evaluating and managing private credit and structured investment opportunities across Asia Pacific, with particular exposure to real estate, infrastructure and other real asset sectors. This is a broad investment role covering transaction underwriting, financial modelling, due diligence and portfolio monitoring. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across direct and indirect investment strategies and gain exposure to a diverse range of transactions across the region.
The Role
As part of a lean investment team, you will be involved throughout the investment lifecycle, from evaluating new opportunities and preparing investment recommendations through to monitoring investments following deployment.
Key responsibilities will include:
Investment Analysis & Underwriting- Evaluate private credit, structured finance and real asset investment opportunities across Asia Pacific
- Undertake detailed financial and credit analysis of prospective investments
- Build financial models incorporating historical performance, forecasts, downside scenarios and debt service capabilities
- Assess transaction structures, security packages, key risks and potential mitigants
- Develop investment views and recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative analysis
Transaction Due Diligence- Participate in due diligence across direct investments, co-investments, portfolio transactions and selected fund investments
- Review financial, commercial and transaction information and coordinate with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Analyse underlying assets, sponsors, borrowers and investment managers as appropriate
- Support transaction structuring, documentation and execution
Investment Committee & Credit Papers- Prepare detailed investment and credit papers setting out transaction rationale, financial analysis, key risks and recommendations
- Develop supporting materials and presentations for internal approval processes
- Present analysis and respond to questions from senior investment stakeholders
Portfolio Management- Monitor existing investments against approved business plans and underwriting assumptions
- Track financial performance, credit metrics and relevant covenants
- Identify emerging portfolio risks and recommend appropriate actions
- Prepare periodic portfolio and investment performance reports
Investment Process & Strategic Initiatives- Contribute to the continued development of investment, risk management and compliance processes
- Support improvements to analytical tools, reporting frameworks and investment workflows
- Participate in market research and other strategic projects undertaken by the investment team
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related discipline
- At least 3 years of relevant experience within private credit, structured finance, project finance, real asset investments, credit research, banking, private equity or a related investment environment
- Strong financial modelling and quantitative analysis skills
- Experience conducting transaction due diligence and assessing investment or credit opportunities
- Good understanding of financial statements, credit fundamentals and investment structures
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
- Ability to prepare clear, concise and well-supported investment recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently within a lean, collaborative and internationally oriented team
- CFA, CAIA or other relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous
- Candidates with exposure to real estate, infrastructure, digital infrastructure or other alternative real asset sectors will be particularly relevant. Experience analysing transactions across emerging and developed Asian markets would also be advantageous.
