Job Description

SUMMARY

GR Taiwan is looking to recruit an Associate Manager for our Taipei office to support our work on a range of Taiwan public policy issues.

We are seeking an individual with five to ten years of experience in public policy, policy advocacy, and/ or a background in government. Candidates with experience in strategy consulting, media, industry associations, or international business are also encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will work in a client-facing role across a variety of accounts spanning different sectors. A high level of English proficiency is essential.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent spoken and written Mandarin and English are essential
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, such as in government, public affairs, politics, media, industry associations, strategy consulting, or international business
  • Proven track record of engaging with key stakeholders across the political spectrum
  • Strong understanding of Taiwan's political environment, policymaking process, and regulatory landscape
  • Familiarity with the operations of key government institutions, including the Executive Yuan and Legislative Yuan
  • Strong awareness of Taiwan's political dynamics, stakeholder landscape, and policy trends
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess policy developments and their potential impact on business operations
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to complex policy challenges
  • Strong interest in contributing to public policy dialogue in Taiwan
  • Ability to manage client relationships and respond effectively to client needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive and responsible working attitude

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver high-quality research and analysis in both Mandarin and English
  • Monitor and analyse policy and regulatory developments in Taiwan relevant to client interests
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and support engagement with government agencies, legislators, media, and industry groups
  • Support the development of policy strategies, advocacy plans, and communication approaches
  • Work closely with internal teams to execute client strategies and advocacy initiatives
  • Manage projects in a structured and organized manner
  • Support broader team functions, including idea generation and new business development

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field, such as public policy, economics, political science, law, communications, or international relations
