Job Description

We are looking for an Associate HR Business Partner to join our regional HR team and take ownership of the full employee lifecycle across the Taiwan business.

This is a hands-on HRBP role for someone who wants to build strong business partnership skills while developing deep expertise across HR operations. You will work closely with business leaders and managers to support people decisions, while also taking direct ownership of hiring, payroll, employee relations, HR operations and local compliance.

You will be expected to operate with both a business-partner mindset and an execution mindset — understanding the business context behind people issues, while making sure the fundamentals are accurate, timely and well executed.

What You'll Do

HR Business Partnering

  • Partner with managers and business leaders in Taiwan on day-to-day people matters and workforce needs.
  • Provide practical HR advice across performance, employee relations, organizational changes, compensation and people management.
  • Support managers through the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through performance management and offboarding.
  • Identify people risks and trends proactively, and translate business needs into practical HR solutions.
  • Support performance review, talent discussions, succession planning and other people initiatives.

Talent Acquisition

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for Taiwan, from hiring intake and sourcing through offer, onboarding and hiring completion.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and build effective hiring plans.
  • Manage job postings, candidate pipelines, interviews, offers and recruitment coordination.
  • Build and maintain a strong local talent pipeline and continuously improve recruitment effectiveness.
  • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience.

Payroll, Compensation & Benefits

  • Own monthly payroll operations for Taiwan, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs including salary changes, allowances, commissions, deductions, leave, attendance and employee movements.
  • Work closely with Finance and payroll vendors to resolve payroll issues and ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Support annual salary reviews, compensation changes and benefits administration.
  • Ensure statutory payments, tax and social insurance requirements are accurately managed.

HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle

  • Own day-to-day HR operations and employee lifecycle processes for Taiwan.
  • Manage onboarding, transfers, promotions, probation reviews and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Manage employment contracts, HR documentation, policies and personnel records.
  • Ensure HR processes are consistently applied and continuously improved.
  • Support HR systems and tools, including HRIS, attendance, payroll and other people-related systems.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Act as a trusted first point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related matters.
  • Handle employee relations cases with appropriate judgement, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary matters and workplace issues where required.
  • Ensure compliance with Taiwan employment legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Work with external HR/legal advisors when specialist support is required.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of employment risks and escalate material issues appropriately.

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or contribute to regional and global HR projects across areas such as HR operations, systems, policies, engagement, performance and organizational development.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve HR processes.
  • Use HR data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Support the Head of HRBP in developing scalable HR practices across the organization.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–6 years of HR experience, ideally with exposure to both HRBP and HR operations/generalist responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting managers and business leaders in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Taiwan employment practices, payroll and statutory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience managing end-to-end recruitment and payroll.
  • Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and HR operations.
  • Comfortable handling employee relations matters with maturity, discretion and sound judgement.
  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger business picture.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize effectively and take ownership from problem identification through resolution.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with employees at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly and processes may still be evolving.
  • Proficiency in both Mandarin and English, written and spoken.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will be successful when you can:

  • Be the trusted HR partner for the Taiwan business, not simply an HR administrator.
  • Give managers practical, commercially sensible HR advice and know when to escalate.
  • Run Taiwan's core HR operations accurately and independently.
  • Deliver reliable payroll, recruitment and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Resolve employee issues quickly, fairly and professionally.
  • Spot problems before they become business or compliance risks.
  • Turn recurring HR problems into simpler and more scalable processes.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a lean, high-growth environment.

Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to join a lean regional HR team where you will have real ownership and broad exposure across the entire HR function. Rather than being limited to one HR specialty, you will work across HRBP, talent acquisition, payroll, employee relations, HR operations and people projects — giving you the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded HR business partner with strong commercial and operational capabilities. If you are an HR professional who enjoys solving problems, working closely with the business, and getting things done, we'd love to hear from you.
