About the Role
Manage direct real estate investments across the region, including land and building acquisitions, while providing oversight, monitoring and governance support for indirect real estate investments.
Support the Director of Real Estate Investment in developing portfolio strategies and ensuring compliance with the Investment Governance Framework, with the objective of building a well balanced and diversified real asset portfolio targeting over US$30 billion by 2030.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Group ICU and external consultants to conduct market analysis on key markets and sub-market in the region, assess the financial model to set up investment/portfolio strategy (10%)
- Prepare the Investment Memo for acquisition of land and/or buildings in the region with all supporting documents including but not limited to valuation reports, market study reports and other relevant due diligence reports. (30%)
- Work with AIAIM / BU Real Estate functions to support the ongoing oversight of the indirect real portfolio including and not limited to portfolio construction strategy and fund performance review (20%)
- Maintain and update the database of market comparable for financial underwriting and periodic review of performance benchmarking. (10%)
- Assist the Head of Real Estate Asset Management to directly manage the assets or oversight the asset performance in the region. (20%)
- Review and update the investment processes in the IGF, in line with the market condition and our ESG philosophy (10%)
- Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Degree in related disciplines including real estate finance, business administration, finance, surveying
- Preferably to have experiences in direct real estate investment management
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experiences such as in insurance industry, real estate consultancy, developers and fund businesses
- Member of professional institutions, preferably RICS or other relevant professional qualifications in accounting/finance
- (Written) Excellent command of English and Chinese. (Verbal) Fluency in Cantonese and functional Mandarin
