The Job
Lead and carry out periodic risk assessment and develop a risk-based internal audit plan for Audit Committee review and approval. Through regular and proactive interaction with management, as well as analysis of management information and business activities, ensure the audit plan is responsive to and aligned with the risk profile of the organization.
Lead and execute internal audit assignments to evaluate the adequacy and enhance the effectiveness of internal control, risk management and governance processes
Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to mitigate the relevant risks.
Ensure audit works performed comply with Institute of Internal Auditor Standard.
Prepare audit reports which clearly articulate control deficiencies and propose remediation actions to mitigate the risk identified.
Follow up with management and monitor the remediation of identified issues.
Establish effective working relationship with management while maintaining independence.
Assist the Head of Internal Audit in training, coaching and evaluating staff, and taking corrective actions to address performance issues if necessary.
The Person
University graduate with a bachelor's degree in business related disciplines
10+ years of audit / compliance related experience in life insurance industry, financial services industry, or Big 4
CPA / CIA / CISA / FRM or relevant professional qualifications
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist qualification and Anti-Money Laundering audit experience is an advantage
Solid knowledge of life insurance industry
Details oriented, positive attitude and self-motivated
Strong project management and excellent report writing skills
Ability to work under pressure
Good leadership with excellent analytical, interpersonal and coaching skills
Fluency in English and Cantonese
Experience in data analytics is an advantage
