  • This role will support the management of the participating business, including to manage the bonus and other discretionary benefits recommendation, regular asset share reporting, determination of policyholder illustration / other regulatory disclosures, as well as other initiatives and ad-hoc projects. It will also provide support on product oversight from actuarial and risk perspectives, engaging in the product development process and assisting the review of product-related materials.

Preferred skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in AXIS, Prophet ALS or other actuarial software is not required but a plus.
  • Experience in HK-specific Par management and Product/ Pricing is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative, commitment and responsibility as a team member.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and lead junior staff.

Qualifications

  • University Graduate in Actuarial Science or related disciplines.
  • Qualified actuary - FSA, FCIA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent, or good progression in actuarial exams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills on both English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and support on the product development process, helping to ensure compliance with sound actuarial practices and relevant regulations, and proper development of policyholders reasonable expectations (PRE).
  • Review of product-related materials to ensure its accuracy and that communications are as intended and congruent to PRE.

  • Support review and recommendation of discretionary benefits, including dividends, bonuses and non-guaranteed rates. Manage regular production processes including asset share reporting, regulatory disclosures and maintenance and development of actuarial models.

  • Other support on need basis: Provide actuarial support to Team Lead based on evolving regulations and other business need.
