Associate Controls Engineer, System Security (2-year contract)

Job Requirements:

• Manage the existing fleet of physical and virtual servers for the Scientific Systems, Facility Services.
• Leverage industry knowledge for the integration of best practices in doing so.
• Compile and maintain regular reports on remediation activities.
• Manage the HKDL VCenter and the membership of all the ESXi hosts within.
• Maintain and document OT assets inventory in an effort to ensure warranty and support coverage as well as to provide data for forecasting lifespan and obsolescence.
• Install, configure, operate, maintain and backup cyber tools for logging, scanning, monitoring and IDS running on on-prem physical servers or VM.
• Maintain the Active Directory infrastructure for the HKDL attractions environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informa tion Engineering, Cybersecurity, Electronics / Electrical Engineering.
• At least 1 year in a technical role in support of troubleshooting, and maintaining servers both physical and virtual, fresh graduates with relevant academic backgrounds and experiences would also be considered. Prior experience or a strong understanding of how to integrate server hardware within an OT/ICS environment is highly preferred.
• Practical experience with:
  • VMware / Proxmox hypervisor
  • Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
  • Rack server hardware installation and setup, out of band remote server mgmt interfaces (e.g. iLO, IPMI).
  • Basic network setup and configuration
  • Experience in working with Linux distro (e.g. Ubuntu server, Red Hat Enterprise) is highly preferred.
• Ability to work individually with minimal supervision and as an integral part of a team.
• Proficient in all forms of communication-especially when conveying technical details to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to efficiently resolve server issues with varying degrees of complexity.
• Strong knowledge of network architectures, protocols, and technologies.
• Knowledgeable in server security best practices, and implementation of documentation.
• Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings including occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays.
