Job Description

Singlife is the exclusive insurance provider for the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs and Public Officers Group Insurance Scheme. Singlife is also an official signatory of the United Nations Principles for Sustainable Insurance and the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, affirming its commitment to finding a better way to sustainability.

The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time.

Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Purpose Of The Role

  • Support Corporate Business Head in driving the growth and profitability of assigned corporate business portfolios.
  • Compilation of the business unit's financial performance and reporting
  • Collaborating with assigned intermediaries and pooling partner to maintain and support the current business.
  • Directly engage with corporate customers to provide servicing and renewal activities.
  • Ensure the continued success of the business by meeting the targets for persistency and VNB for the year.
  • Work closely with the intermediaries to effectively promote the Affinity Program and meet the set target.
  • Engage in projects aimed at fostering career advancement and driving growth.
  • Promote and offer additional Group Business products to our valued clients.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and prospects, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and with a focus on quality.
  • Administer policies for the assigned segment in a thorough and effective manner.
  • Proactively building and nurturing relationships with a wide range of individuals and organizations
  • Addressing and resolving any concerns or escalations raised by clients and employees, including issues related to products and/or platform
  • Facilitating communication sessions for direct accounts or participating in sessions organized by intermediaries

Key Responsibilities

Financial

  • Achieve annual business targets and IFRS set
  • Achieve agreed response turn-around time
  • Achieve collection of premiums within 60 days from issuance of Tax Invoice

Non-Financial

  • Assist in the implementation of identified business initiatives
  • Ensure risks are underwritten and accepted in accordance with the risk management and underwriting policies of the company and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for premium collection of the allocated accounts
  • Responsible for the coordination of the unit's monthly business performance result and ensure timely reporting and tracking
  • Assist in training and guide intermediary in our process and system.
  • Monitor and ensure service deliverables with Customer Service Team as well as any Service Level Agreements
  • Assist in value creation strategy such as sales incentives, business/products promotion, sales, engagement, monthly meetings, relationship mapping

  • Financial Authority as per the delegation of Authority for Group Business

Experience

Requirements:

  • Preferably with experience in Employee Benefits industry and sound knowledge of Life and Health Insurance

Education

  • Recognized university degree; or at least GCE A level or Diploma with relevant professional insurance qualifications
  • Capital Markets & Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) Exams: Modules 5 & 9 (CLI, ILP equivalent).
  • Certificate in Health Insurance

External

Key Stakeholders:

  • Customers: Domestic Brokers, FAs and HR of Corporate customers
  • Others: Consulting Firms, Medical Providers, Re-insurers

Internal

  • Various Departments such as Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Group Operations, Tech.
