Associate Attorney (Entry Level)

Ascendant LLP is a U.S.-based boutique law firm focusing on international private wealth planning, cross-border tax structuring, and select corporate transactions. Though small, we serve high-net-worth clients typically represented by large global firms. This position will be based in Taipei (台北) located within the office of our affiliate Kuo and Kuo Law Office, and work closely with our U.S. headquarters.

Job Responsibilities.

• Assist in drafting estate planning and trust documents

• Conduct research on U.S. tax and legal matters, including Estate, Gift, and Income Tax

• Support cross-border asset structuring and corporate planning

• Assist with private company transactions and selected M&A matters

• Prepare legal opinions and client memoranda • Participate in client meetings and collaborate with international professional advisors

Requirements: • Active U.S. bar license (CA or NY preferred) • U.S. legal education (LL.M. or J.D.) • Strong English drafting and communication skills • Interest in private wealth, tax, trusts, and cross-border matters Compensation negotiable. Qualification to practice law in Taiwan is a plus but not required. Strong tax knowledgment preferred. Employment will follow Taiwanese labor law.
