Assistant Sales Manager

Key responsibilities

• Manage, nurture relationships and grow sales with existing customers and ensure continued sales, customer satisfaction and repeat business

• Identify, pursue and develop new sales opportunities within the assigned territory to meet and exceed sales targets

• Prepare and deliver sales pitches to prospective clients, highlighting product benefits and value propositions

• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline management using CRM systems and including payment collections

• Coordinate with the logistics and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and product quality for all accounts

• Track, monitor and analyse sales data and market trends to provide insights and recommendations for business growth

• Support the Head of Sales & Development in developing and implementing sales strategies and promotional campaigns

• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, working towards swift resolution

• Attend industry events and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and generate leads

• Contribute to the achievement of team and individual sales targets on a monthly and annual basis

About you

• Proven achievement track record in business development sales, account management, or a similar customer-facing role within the food, beverage, or retail sector

• Strong relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships

• Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals and upsell products

• Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft 365 applications

• Result-driven mindset with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets consistently

• Self-motivated and organized, capable of managing multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously

• Knowledge of bakery, confectionery, or food distribution industry is advantageous

• Willingness to travel extensively
