Position: Quality Section Manager / Quality Assistant Manager

Location: Taichung

Reports to: Director, Taiwan Operations

I. Position Objective

The Quality Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of all Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) operations. The role ensures that products meet company, customer, and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement across all manufacturing processes.

II. Key Responsibilities

1. Quality System Management & Maintenance

  • Develop and implement the company's overall quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Formulate and execute annual quality plans and objectives; conduct regular reviews to ensure targets are met.
  • Maintain and oversee the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), leading process improvements and internal/external audits.
  • Collect, analyze, and verify data on quality defects to identify root causes and standardize corrective actions.

2. Inspection Planning & Process Control

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate inspection workflows for all stages: IQC (Incoming), IPQC (In-Process), and FQC/OQC (Final/Outgoing).
  • Define quality standards for new product introductions (NPI) and design changes.
  • Establish and manage gold standards, limit samples, and reference masters for production line comparison.

3. Abnormality Analysis & Customer Complaints

  • Lead cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis for major quality deviations and high-rate failures.
  • Provide feedback to production units to facilitate continuous manufacturing quality enhancement.
  • Serve as the primary lead for customer complaint handling, providing technical reports (e.g., 8D reports) and long-term improvement schemes.

4. Supplier & Equipment Management

  • Manage supplier quality through audits, performance evaluations, and collaborative improvement plans.
  • Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and management of all inspection, measurement, and test equipment (Metrology).
  • Manage and safeguard customer-required samples and prototypes.

III. Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of quality management experience in the manufacturing industry. Hands-on experience in mechanical processing/machining plants is highly preferred.
  • Professional Skills: * Proficient in quality tools (e.g., 7 QC Tools, SPC, 8D, FMEA).
  • Expertise in ISO 9001 standards and implementation.
  • Language: Intermediate English proficiency or above (written and verbal).
  • Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems.

IV. Competencies & Attributes

  • Cost Awareness: Strong understanding of the Cost of Quality (COQ) and ability to balance quality with operational efficiency.
  • Leadership: Proven organizational management skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Analytical Thinking: Highly logical with strong problem-solving capabilities under pressure.
