Role Description

NYCU invites applications for a full-time, on-site Assistant Professor position in the Department of Engineering Medicine at the School of Medicine, located in the Shu-Tien Building on the Bo-Ai Campus in Hsinchu City (https://med.nycu.edu.tw/%e6%9b%b8%e7%94%b0%e9%a4%a8/). The successful candidate will deliver innovative teaching for medical students, conduct high-impact research at the intersection of engineering and clinical science, and mentor students at both undergraduate and graduate levels. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with clinical and engineering faculty, engage in translational research, and contribute to interdisciplinary academic activities within the broader NYCU community.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Engineering Medicine or a related field (e.g., Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science)
  • Demonstrated research expertise connecting engineering principles with clinical or biomedical applications
  • Teaching experience in higher education, ideally incorporating interdisciplinary approaches
  • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering lectures and guiding research projects
  • Commitment to mentoring students and contributing to curriculum development in engineering medicine
  • Candidates should demonstrate a vision for advancing engineering medicine, whether through novel biomedical device development, computational modeling, AI-driven diagnostics, or other convergent technologies. The ability to create innovative solutions for clinical challenges and to foster partnerships across disciplines will be key to success in this role.
