China Re Group is the largest reinsurance group in Asia and the 8th globally by gross premium income. The Group is rated A (excellent) continuously by A.M. Best since 2010, rated A+ or A continuously by Standard & Poor's since 2014.

In 2016, we set up China Re Singapore Branch with the approval of a license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Our office is located within Raffles Place, at CapitaGreen on Market Street. Currently, we are writing both life and general business in the Asia Pacific region.

We are now seeking to fill the following position in our Singapore team.

Assistant Manager, Life Reinsurance Business, Life Re Dept

Responsibilities:

. Conduct market analysis, comprehensively understanding market dynamics, customer needs, and the reinsurance competitive landscape, tracking the latest developments in products, channels, and services, and providing suggestions for the company's life and health reinsurance business development in the South East Asia (SEA) market

. Establish customer relationships, analyze business needs, understand business risks, and present solutions including product ideas and structured reinsurance solutions, and achieve business cooperation.

. Manage client's expectation actively and be comfortable in presenting and negotiating commercial terms.

. Support local / regional pricing functions and coordinate with head office actuarial and pricing teams to ensure solutions offered are commercially attractive to clients whilst satisfying internal pricing KPI.

. Support business operation, including obtaining clients Statement of Account, coordinating with internal finance and operation teams, and settling accounts receivable in a timely manner.

. Coordinate internal resources across head office and domestic teams, including product, underwriting, actuarial, finance, legal, risk management and senior management, to facilitate timely review, approval and implementation of regional opportunities.

. Act as a cross-border communication bridge between the Singapore Branch and head office stakeholders, ensuring that SEA operations are aligned with China Re's overall risk appetite, decision-making process, operation and governance standards.

Requirements:

. Candidate actively pursuing international professional actuarial qualifications is a must.

. Minimum 5 years life & health insurance / reinsurance working experience. Reinsurance experience is preferred.

. Master degree or above

. Basic knowledge of insurance / reinsurance business landscape in SEA region good understanding of head office life and health products comparing to SEA region.

. Experience in life & health insurance / reinsurance product pricing. Reinsurance account management is a plus.

. Experience in Asian financial institution, with familiarity with internal governance, approval processes and corporate culture, is a plus

. Ability to act as a cross-border bridge between the Singapore Branch and head office teams, ensuring efficient internal communication and coordination

. Good communication and interpersonal skills

. Project management experience would be an advantage

. Willingness to travel

. Effectively bilingual in both written and verbal communications including communicating with Chinese speaking colleagues in the head office.
