Job Description

The Role

You will support the Government Affairs & Public Policy function in advancing ComfortDelGro's strategic objectives across Singapore and international markets. As a Group-level role, you will work closely with business units, overseas operations, and corporate functions, supporting both established businesses and prospective market opportunities.

You will support the development and execution of the Group's public and government affairs agenda, spanning public affairs and advocacy, government and regulatory engagement, stakeholder engagement, and strategic issues and crisis management. The role also involves monitoring and assessing political, policy, regulatory, and geopolitical developments across the Group's markets, providing insights that inform business decisions, shape external engagement strategies, and strengthen the Group's licence to operate.

The role operates within a matrixed structure and includes close collaboration with the Media team. In addition to supporting public and government affairs priorities, you will also support media relations and press office operations, providing a broad understanding of how government, stakeholder, and media engagement work together to advance the Group's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of public and government affairs strategies across Singapore and international markets.
  • Support public affairs and advocacy initiatives that advance the Group's strategic objectives and strengthen its external positioning.
  • Coordinate engagements with government agencies, regulators, embassies, trade associations and chambers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyse political, policy, regulatory, and geopolitical developments across the Group's markets, assessing their risks and opportunities, and providing timely insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping, landscape assessments, and strategic intelligence gathering to support business priorities and market expansion efforts, including evaluating the political, regulatory, operating, and stakeholder dynamics of prospective markets.
  • Maintain stakeholder databases, engagement records, policy trackers, and market intelligence reports to support organisational knowledge and decision-making.
  • Prepare briefing memoranda, talking points, presentations, and correspondence for senior management, Board members, and high-level external engagements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs from business units and corporate functions on public and government affairs as well as stakeholder-related matters.
  • Support the Group's issues and crisis management efforts, helping to assess emerging risks, coordinate cross-functional responses, prepare leadership briefings, and support stakeholder engagement strategies during sensitive or high-impact situations.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of high-level visits, diplomatic engagements, executive meetings, business missions, and other strategic stakeholder engagements.
  • Support media engagement activities and press office operations in partnership with the Media team, including media enquiries, interview coordination, and selected external communications initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Communications, Business, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in public affairs, government affairs, corporate affairs, communications, media, the public sector, consulting, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore's government, policy and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent research, analytical and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex external developments into clear business insights.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
  • Experience engaging government agencies, regulators, policymakers, industry associations, or other external stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing briefing materials and correspondence for senior executives and high-level engagements.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working across international markets and familiarity with transport, mobility, infrastructure, or other regulated sectors would be advantageous.
