Job Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of technical projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business objectives.
- Identify potential project risks and develop effective contingency and mitigation plans.
- Proactively address technical and operational challenges to minimize disruptions.
- Manage a small team of local and offshore developers, providing guidance and support.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and optimize resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and business units.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and manage expectations.
- Provide hands-on technical involvement in the development and maintenance of web-based systems.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the team and across projects.
- Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track progress and report status.
- Provide support for production incidents, including investigation, resolution, and post-incident analysis.
- Participate in and coordinate production deployments, ensuring minimal impact to business operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in IT industry, insurance-related preferrable.
- Proficient in Java and the Spring framework, with strong experience in web development technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Proficient in relational databases with a strong grasp of core database concepts, including normalization, indexing, query optimization, and data integrity.
- Proven experience in managing technical work within a small team environment.
- Familiarity with both agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
- Exposure to the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in troubleshooting technical issues and proposing effective solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment models.
- Experience working within a DevSecOps model, integrating security into development and operations workflows.
- Consistently demonstrates ownership of assigned tasks, proactively follows through, and strives to deliver effective solutions.
- Excellent command of technical skills, with the ability to grasp complex systems and concepts quickly.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent command of English and Chinese - both written and spoken
