NIE invites suitable applications for the position of Assistant Manager, Dean's Office and Global Engagement with the Office for Research.

The Dean's Office plays an integral role in the strategic communications and engagement efforts of OfR, effectively conveying its strategic positioning and policies to MOE, NIE, and other stakeholders. The office also advances NIE's global leadership and reputation in education research by fostering strategic international partnerships, facilitating high-impact collaborations and strengthening NIE's contributions to global educational knowledge and practice.

As the Assistant Manager, Dean's Office and Global Engagement, you will play a key support role in NIE's global research engagement strategy, building sustainable partnerships with leading universities and research institutions, and supporting initiatives that position NIE as a global thought leader in education research, policy, and practice. You will also support in strategic communications and engagement efforts of OfR. This is a contract post till 31 Mar 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Dean's Office in advancing NIE's global engagement objectives and strategic priorities.

  • Provide support in strategic research matters, including collation of reports, requests and secretarial support for OfR management and other strategic meetings.

  • Support in organising Programme Office Meetings and OfR events including strategic retreats, townhalls and outreach to Academic Departments.

  • Assist in the implementation of NIE's global research engagement plans, including coordination, partnership activities, and collaboration initiatives.

  • Help identify productive relationships with universities, research institutes, governments, and international organisations.

  • Support the preparation, review, and coordination of institutional agreements, such as MOUs and Research Collaboration Agreements, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

  • Assist NIE faculty in identifying international research opportunities and developing collaborations.

  • Coordinate international research outreach activities, including symposia, conferences, visiting scholar programmes, and research dialogues.

  • Coordinate and arrrange international research consultancies, capacity-building programmes, and strategic research partnerships.

  • Track and monitor the progress and outcomes of international research partnerships, and maintain records and dashboards for reporting purposes.

  • Provide administrative and operational support on governance, compliance, and cultural protocol matters in international engagements.

  • Work closely Associate Dean, Global & Strategic Engagement, OfR and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of global engagement activities and alignment with NIE goals.

  • Collaborate with NIE Research Centres, Academic Departments, and administrative units to strengthen international research engagement and raise NIE's global visibility.

  • Any other duties as assigned by the reporting officer.

Requirements

  • A University degree.

  • Preferably with 3 years of working experience in an educational institution.

  • Good understanding of global trends, and quick ability to understand research environments.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational abilities, with experience in project and stakeholder management.

  • Good writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment often with tight timelines.

  • Able to communicate professionally and work with faculty and staff across various administrative units.

  • Able to monitor compliance in policies and uphold governance of policies.

  • High level of professionalism, adaptability and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.

  • Proficiency in MS office applications or project management tools is an advantage.
