Job Summary
The Assistant Manager, Data Governance supports the development and implementation of the Bank's data governance framework, ensuring effective data management practices across the organization. This role works closely with IT and business stakeholders to establish data standards, manage data architecture components, and enhance the overall quality, consistency, and accessibility of data to support strategic decision-making.
Job Accountabilities
- Act as a liaison with the Bank's IT Division on matters related to data management architecture.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Bank's data standards and data governance guidelines.
- Manage metadata, data catalogues, and data lineage to ensure transparency and traceability of data assets.
- Oversee and support data migration activities from legacy systems to new platforms, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Evaluate existing data architecture and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Administer and maintain data modelling tools, ensuring proper version control and adaptability to evolving business needs.
- Coordinate project tracking activities, including documentation, meeting scheduling, and administrative tasks related to data management initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles (preferably within financial services).
- Good understanding of data governance principles, data architecture, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience in managing metadata, data catalogues, or data lineage tools will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with data modelling tools and data migration processes.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify gaps and propose practical solutions.
- Able to work independently with strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
