We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director, Procurement & Commercial to lead the commercial and procurement functions for our regional data centre development projects. Reporting to the VP of Engineering & Construction, you will drive commercial strategy, procurement excellence, contract management, and cost governance to ensure successful project delivery across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial planning, cost management, budgeting, and financial forecasting for multiple data centre construction projects.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies, including strategic sourcing, tender management, contract negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Oversee commercial management of major construction packages, including Civil, Structural, Architectural, MEP, Power, Cooling, ICT, BMS/EPMS, Fire Protection, and Security Systems.
- Manage contracts, variations, claims, payment certifications, and final accounts while ensuring contractual compliance and commercial governance.
- Identify and mitigate commercial, contractual, and supply chain risks to support project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, suppliers, legal, finance, and project teams.
- Lead commercial reporting, procurement dashboards, cash flow forecasting, and executive management updates.
- Mentor and develop the Procurement & Commercial team while driving continuous improvement and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of commercial, procurement, or quantity surveying experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale data centre, mission-critical, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, PAM, SIA, NEC), procurement strategies, cost management, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated experience in managing EPC, Design & Build, or major construction contracts.
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Regional project experience across Southeast Asia is an advantage.
