Assistant Computer Officer (6 months)

The Human Resources Office is seeking an IT professional to support its IT functions and infrastructure, in partnership with the central IT service unit.Working in an in-house support team for IT-related matters, the appointee will be primarily responsible for providing operational support for major application systems including the administration of system software and upgrade within the office.Major responsibilities include (a) participating in the design, development, implementation and testing of HR-related applications and their daily administrative support (b) assisting in necessary system upgrade and patch management for various systems (c) implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard the network, servers, computers and data storage of the office (d) evaluating various third-party software solutions (e) implementing AI-driven solutions in various system applications/IT services and (f) collaborating with users to resolve IT-related problems.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a recognised university (ii) 1 to 2 years relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably with solid experience in MSSQL/Oracle and system development with SQL, Python, C#, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, PeopleTools, AI Tools (such as Copilot or Gemini), etc. (iii) experience in Microsoft Windows Servers and Linux Servers(iv) experience in implementing IT security measures for the protection of computer systems and networks from cybersecurity threats (v) good analytical, troubleshooting, organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and service-oriented attitude (vi) the ability to work independently and (vii) a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Having experience in PeopleSoft HCM and Taleo e-Recruitment will be an advantage.

Appointment will be made on a 6-month contract commencing as soon as possible.
