Job Descriptions:
Assist in managing the Insurance Risk & Financial Management sub-team under the Actuarial In-Force Management team to:
Conduct regular experience monitoring and deep-dive analyses to generate insights into emerging insurance risks, enabling effective management of operating experience and annual operating assumption setting.
Drive transformation in data analytics processes and modeling under the economic valuation regime.
Participate in insurance risk advisory committees and collaborate with external professional bodies and reinsurers to gain insights into the latest insurance experience trends.
Experience Monitoring & Analysis
Conduct regular experience monitoring and reporting. Develop and enhance experience dashboards. Perform deep-dive studies to uncover emerging insurance risks and support modeling under the economic valuation regime (e.g., mortality improvements, policyholder behavior and options).
Operating Assumption Setting
Support the setting of operating assumptions based on experience and long-term perspectives, considering various financial metrics. Address queries from stakeholders such as the regional office, internal auditors, and external auditors to ensure audit clearance.
Data Analytics Enhancement
Lead enhancements in data analytics processes using advanced predictive tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI). Improve the experience dashboard to support more insightful analysis.
Insurance Risk Advisory Participation
Participate in insurance risk advisory committees. Prepare meaningful and insightful analyses based on experience studies to guide effective management of operating experience.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Collaborate with other actuarial sub-teams (e.g., Product, EV, Distribution) to gather insights and align on strategies for managing insurance experience.
Supervision & Coaching
Supervise team juniors and provide ongoing coaching on actuarial, product, and insurance-related knowledge.
