Job Description

Snapshot of the role:

The Assistant Accounts Manager will oversee the finance function, including account processing, monthly closing activities, financial reporting & analysis, and audit support to ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with business leaders to drive and grow the business.

The position reports to the GM of the business unit, with dotted functional reporting line to the Group Reporting Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the full set of accounts and all aspect of monthly financial/management reporting.
  • Oversee cash flow projections, ensuring sufficient funds are available to support ongoing operations.
  • Supervise Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing and record keeping.
  • Participate in budgeting and monitoring of the annual budget.
  • Prepare year-end reports for audit, liaise with auditors, and coordinate the external audit process.
  • Prepare deferred tax computations and handle tax compliance matters, including SST, withholding tax, and corporate income tax submissions.
  • Support business with financial performance analysis, such as project profitability.
  • Assist in ERP system implementation by providing finance's input and liaising with other departments.
  • Support finance-related projects and ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualification & skills:

  • Applicants must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Finance/ Accounting. Professional Qualification in Accounting (ie: ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CPA, MIA & etc.) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong fundamental accounting knowledge.
  • Proficient in ERP system and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight reporting timelines.
