General Summary
The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising assembly operators to ensure production tasks are completed on time while meeting required quality and safety standards. This role requires hands-on assembly knowledge, particularly for networking and communication products, and the ability to train, guide, and develop assembly personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and assign daily tasks to assembly operators to meet production schedules and output targets.
- Ensure assembly work is performed in accordance with work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Possess hands-on capability to assemble networking and communication products or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and master required assembly skills.
- Support and participate in assembly activities when necessary to resolve issues, improve efficiency, or meet delivery commitments.
- Train new operators and continuously improve the skill level of existing assembly personnel through on-the-job coaching and guidance.
- Monitor assembly quality, identify defects, or process issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Support Engineering, Quality, and Material teams to resolve assembly-related issues.
- Track daily assembly progress, manpower utilization, and productivity, and report status, risks, or issues to management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to assembly processes, efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Ensure proper use and basic maintenance of assembly tools, fixtures, and equipment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in assembly operations, preferably related to networking or communication products.
- Hands-on assembly skills, or strong willingness and ability to learn assembly techniques quickly.
- Prior experience supervising or leading assembly operators is preferred.
- Basic understanding of production flow, quality control principles, and safety requirements.
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across functional teams.
- Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work under production pressure.
- Basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and daily tracking.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
- Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master's = one year) of work experience.
