Your Job
As a AQP Engineer at Molex, you won't just own deliverables — you will drive results. This role demands a strategic thinker who thrives on identifying risk early, influencing cross-functional teams, and bringing structure and confidence to new product launches.
You'll lead from the front across engineering, manufacturing, and quality functions — guiding Molex's New Product Introduction (NPI) projects toward excellence in both technical performance and economic efficiency. Our Team
- Advanced Quality Planning (AQP)
- Be the bridge between customer requirements and technical execution, driving engagement across PM, PJM, MIE, Product Design, and PE teams to align expectations and embed the voice of the customer (VOC) in every stage of product development.
- Champion risk-based thinking using tools like DfM/A, D&PFMEA, Control Plan, and MSA. Your role is not to check boxes — it's to ask bold questions, challenge assumptions, and remove roadblocks to success.
- Lead AQP performance in the Copper Solutions Business Unit (CSBU), ensuring critical projects meet quality, timing, and launch readiness goals.
- Guide execution of Molex's PDP (Product Development Process) framework to anticipate problems before they happen, and build repeatable, robust systems.
- Own product qualification documentation, ensuring external approvals are achieved without rework or delay.
- Lead NPI-stage process audits and drive real closure of findings.
- Quantify and attack Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) early in the product lifecycle.
- Continually improve AQP practices, from both technical and workflow perspectives.
- Be a cultural driver — modeling PBM values like Principled Entrepreneurship, Self-Actualization, and Transformation. Use economic thinking to guide technical choices with business impact.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Product Development, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Skilled in problem solving tools: SPC, PDCA, 3-Legged 5 Why, Shainin, Ishikawa, and MSA (experience with Minitab a plus).
- You influence without authority. You ask what's the tradeoff and help others make risk-adjusted decisions.
- Comfortable communicating in English — both written and spoken.
- Passionate about Transformation. You challenge status quo to find a better way.
- Experience with automotive quality systems (IATF 16949) and familiarity with NPI methodologies, including APQP, gate reviews, and validation planning.
- Understanding of reliability testing across multiple industries (e.g., automotive, medical, datacom).
- Prior experience with high-precision manufacturing or similar products.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
