Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Designer

(STA/Timing signoff CAD Engineer)

Responsibilities

• CPU/GPU STA,high-speed & low-voltagetiming signoff/timing closure methodology process design
• STA Process development & optimization
• High-speed/low-voltage timing signoff criteria Development & optimization
• STA/Timing signoff issue analysis & improvement
• Timing Analysis & Verification: Use professional timing analysis tools (such as PrimeTime, Tempus, etc.) to conduct timing checks to ensure that the IC design can meet the set timing requirements, and propose correction solutions for paths that do not meet the conditions.
• Timing Convergence & Optimization: In the chip design process, incl. the synthesis and routing stages, long and short paths must be analyzed and optimized to improve design performance and avoid timing violations.
• Process Variation and Environmental Condition Considerations: Analyze the impact of variation at different process nodes, and consider operating environmental conditions such as voltage and temperature to ensure that the timing design has sufficient margins.

Qualifications

• B.S. or MSc in Electronic, Electrical Engineering or related fields, MSc degree is preferred.
• 3+ yrs of Timing analysis (STA) exp., or Digital IC design, or related exp.
• Hands-on Physical design exp. is preferred
• Hands-on Timing signoff flow exp. is preferred
• Hands-on coding exp. in Tcl/Perl/Python/script/C/C++
• Exp. on AI/ML (Machine-learning) is preferred.
• EDA tool operation: Hands-on using Timing analysis tools such as PrimeTime, Tempus, and Design Compiler, and possessing the ability to complete timing analysis independently.
• Timing & Logic knowledge: Familiar w/ basic concepts of timing analysis, such as setup time, hold time, clock skew, timing margin, etc., and understand the basics of digital logic design.
• Process & Material Knowledge: Understand advanced process concepts, enabling timing analysis and optimization of process variations.
• Bilingual capability is required (Mandarin & English). Mandarin speaking/reading is an essential skill in HCLTech Taiwan.
• Taiwan APRC is required w/ expat.
