Your Role And Responsibilities

As an Application Architect, you will be the overall application architecture authority within large-scale, mission‑critical banking transformation programs. You will define, govern, and evolve end‑to‑end application architectures for core banking modernization, ensuring alignment across business strategy, regulatory requirements, and enterprise technology standards.

You are expected to act as a trusted advisor to client senior stakeholders, a technical leader for multi‑vendor delivery teams, and an architecture decision maker who balances stability, scalability, regulatory compliance, and long‑term evolution.

Your Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Own end-to-end application architecture for large-scale banking core system transformation programs, including core banking package implementation and surrounding system integration.
  • Define target-state architectures and migration strategies for legacy core systems, covering package-based core banking, coexistence models, and controlled cutover.
  • Lead system integration architecture across core banking, channels, payments, risk, data, and external systems using APIs, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
  • Establish architecture governance and make key design decisions across multiple teams and vendors, ensuring alignment with banking regulations and enterprise standards.
  • Provide technical leadership across the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring scalability, resiliency, and production readiness of mission-critical banking platforms.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, translating business and regulatory needs into long-term architecture direction.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Strong experience in architecting enterprise-scale applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and OpenShift, including hybrid and regulated banking environments.
  • Proven ability in end-to-end application architecture design, covering legacy systems modernization to cloud-native microservices architectures.
  • Hands-on experience in core banking package implementation and system integration with complex surrounding systems using APIs, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
  • Solid background in distributed system and microservices architecture, including scalability, resiliency, data consistency, and transaction handling.
  • Excellent capability in architecture design documentation and presentation, able to clearly communicate architecture decisions to technical teams and senior stakeholders.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Experience leading large-scale banking core system transformation programs, including coexistence and migration strategy design.
  • Deep understanding of legacy codebases (monolithic COBOL / Java systems) and practical approaches to service extraction and modernization.
  • Strong integration architecture experience across core banking, channels, payments, data platforms, and external third-party systemsin complex environments.
  • Familiarity with multi-vendor or SI-led delivery models, with experience driving architecture alignment and governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a senior technical advisor, influencing architecture direction and long-term platform strategy.
