Position Summary
We are looking for a talented and self-driven Senior UEFI Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain BIOS/UEFI firmware for next-generation Lenovo server platforms. The ideal candidate should possess strong firmware development skills, excellent debugging capability, and the ability to independently own firmware modules throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
UEFI Firmware Development
- Design, develop, and maintain UEFI/BIOS firmware based on EDK II.
- Implement new firmware features and maintain existing modules.
- Support Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC server platform development.
- Participate in platform bring-up and production firmware releases.
Module Ownership
- Independently own one or more firmware modules, including:
- Boot Flow
- PCIe
- ACPI
- SMBIOS
- Security
- Firmware Update
- Deliver module design, implementation, debugging, and documentation.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing and peer reviews
Debug Root Cause Analysis
- Investigate and resolve firmware issues involving:
- Boot failure
- Memory initialization
- PCIe enumeration
- ACPI issues
- Utilize debugging tools such as:
- Intel ITP/DCI
- AMD HDT
- UART/POST log
- JTAG
- Perform root cause analysis and implement robust solutions.
Quality Execution
- Deliver firmware features on schedule with high quality.
- Perform code reviews and follow firmware development standards.
- Improve firmware reliability, maintainability, and boot performance.
- Contribute to automation and continuous integration activities.
