Job Description

Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers products. As of 2024, TSMC serves more than 500 customers and manufactures over 11,000 products for high-performance computing, smartphones, the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and digital consumer electronics. It is the world's largest provider of logic ICs, with an annual capacity of 16 million 12-inch equivalent wafers. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and the Company began construction on a specialty technology fab in Dresden, Germany, in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development and sustainment of advanced etch processes to meet yield, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.

2. Demonstrate proficiency in etch tools and surface analysis techniques to achieve technical and operational goals.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including module, integration, FAB teams, and suppliers, to ensure the successful execution of projects.

4. Apply technical expertise and problem-solving skills to optimize processes and enhance process margins.

Job Qualifications:

1. Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.

2. At least 10 years experience in semiconductor technology development or equivalent experience. With 6 years of relevant experience in advanced plasma etch process development preferred.

3. Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills, with excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively across functional teams.
