Job Description

A leading international life insurance organization is seeking an experienced Actuarial Modelling Manager to join its actuarial team in Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong actuary who enjoys coding, model development, and working at the intersection of actuarial, finance, risk, and regulatory reporting.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the design, enhancement, and maintenance of actuarial models supporting valuation, capital, financial reporting, and Asset Liability Management (ALM)
  • Serve as the key custodian of actuarial model infrastructure, ensuring strong governance, documentation, testing, and version control practices
  • Drive model architecture decisions, optimise performance, and improve scalability and maintainability of actuarial systems
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across actuarial, finance, risk, and regulatory functions to translate business requirements into robust model solutions
  • Support implementation of evolving reporting and regulatory frameworks, including IFRS and other financial reporting requirements
  • Contribute to Singapore regulatory reporting and internal group reporting activities
  • Champion best practices in model governance, controls, coding standards, and quality assurance

What We're Looking For

  • 6–10 years of actuarial modelling, implementation, or model ownership experience within life insurance
  • Strong programming capabilities, ideally across tools such as Python, VBA, SQL, actuarial modelling platforms, or similar analytical environments
  • Solid understanding of actuarial valuation, capital modelling, financial reporting, and/or ALM concepts
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex actuarial models and translating technical requirements into practical model solutions
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while engaging effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline

Why Consider This Opportunity

  • Highly technical role with significant ownership and visibility
  • Opportunity to influence model strategy, architecture, and governance
  • Exposure to multiple reporting frameworks and regulatory initiatives
  • Collaborative environment working alongside actuarial, finance, and risk professionals
  • Strong platform for actuaries who enjoy both coding and business impact

If you're an actuarial professional with a passion for model development and want to play a key role in shaping actuarial infrastructure, I'd be happy to share more details confidentially. Feel free to reach out directly.
