Job Description

The Academic Director & Vice Principal will provide academic leadership and support the Director in the overall management and development of the College. The role will oversee academic quality, programme development, academic governance, regulatory compliance, faculty management, student academic matters, and university partnerships.

The successful candidate should have strong experience in academic management and a good understanding of Singapore's Private Education Institution (PEI) environment, SWDA (SSG) and EduTrust requirements, and academic quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Quality

  • Lead and oversee academic quality, programme development, curriculum review, teaching, assessment, and academic standards.

  • Guide Programme Coordinators and lecturers in the effective delivery of programmes.

  • Support the Academic Board and Examination Board and ensure academic policies and procedures are properly implemented.

  • Monitor student academic progression and support continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with SWDA (SSG), EduTrust, PEI and other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Support EduTrust audits, reviews, reporting, and quality assurance activities.

  • Ensure proper academic documentation, assessment integrity, and quality standards are maintained.

University Partnerships

  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with university partners.

  • Coordinate with university partners on programme requirements, academic matters, assessment, and quality assurance.

  • Support the development and maintenance of academic partnerships.

Faculty & Programme Management

  • Provide leadership and guidance to Programme Coordinators, Heads of Department, and lecturers.

  • Support lecturer recruitment, deployment, performance, and professional development.

  • Ensure appropriate academic staffing and resources for programme delivery.

Institutional Leadership

  • Support the Management in strategic planning, policy development, institutional management, and decision-making.

  • Work closely with Student Affairs, Administration, HR, Finance, and other departments.

  • Represent the College when delegated by the Management.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Education, Arts, Management, Business, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably with 5 years or more in academic management or leadership.

  • Strong experience in academic quality, programme management, curriculum development, and academic governance.

  • Familiar with SWDA (SSG), EduTrust and Singapore PEI regulatory requirements.

  • Experience working with university partners, preferably in a partnership or external degree programme environment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

  • Able to work effectively with management, academic staff, students, university partners, and external stakeholders.

Work Location: In person
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm
