Want to take on the role of an Application Engineer? Get ready to design and improve existing software. As an application engineer, you will be required to plan the design and implement unique technology products such as specialty industry equipment or computer programs. S/he will also be needed to work along with the organization's manufacturing, sales, and customer service departments. Being able to take on feedback should be one of the foremost qualities of an Application Engineer. Apart from that, s/he must be comfortable with many coding languages, and predominantly those that apply to enterprise solutions. Application Engineers should also understand the requirements of their patrons/clients while at the same time also know about the technical needs of their software. This simply means that they are required to have an in-depth knowledge of hardware technical specifications as also know about things like server speed and availability, processor speed and other mechanical components. A degree in computer science or one in electrical engineering is a must.
