We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role ofTechnical Service Manager.
Principal responsibilities
Title by manager:Senior Data Center Specialist
. The Senior Data Centre Specialist is responsible for the governance, policing and control of Data Centre whitespace and management of the DCM site team's daily workload. Specifically, the role holder will:
. Liaise closely with IT Business units and internal stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are met cost effectively, sustainably and without impact to uptime.
. Coordinate and manage the delivery of power, cooling and space associated with the installation of IT hardware / infrastructure. Manage all installations, moves, changes and demises within the data centres.
. Coordinate and manage Change Requests to ensure delivery targets are achieved while managing risk appropriately.
. Coordinate and manage the daily workload and performance of the DCM site team.
. Provide timely site capacity and staff performance reports and effective MI.
. Escalate any site issues.
. Lead on-site management and upward communication of any incident affecting power, cooling or passive IT infrastructure. Support Incident Management of IT systems affecting HSBC businesses or functions.
. Ensure correct Data Centre Management processes and procedures are followed always and quality maintained to provide the best service possible to both internal and external customers. Ensure consistent deployment and adherence of all standards.
. Demonstrate and improve process by continuously reviewing for efficiency and introducing change to enhance procedures.
. Identify solutions to problems and mitigate risk based on sound judgment.
. Ensure that the internal businesses and functions IT needs are understood and that services are tailored to meet their requirements.
. Ensure that internal customers are fully aware of the services available and receive maximum benefit from them.
. Contribution to Regional Data Centre Management function.
. Input to capacity planning process and ensuring data integrity.
. Support capital and expense management for the data centres.
. Operational Risk input as and when required.
. Ensure Nlyte data accuracy for data centres.
. Overall governance, policing and control of the data centres.
. Support Audits.
. Manage secure and sustainable disposal of hardware.
. Manage stock of power strips and cabling infrastructure including inward and outward management of equipment and materials.
. Manage 3rd party vendors supporting the delivery of DCM services.
. Be willing to attend shift duties and overtime works in odd hours as required.

Requirements
. To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements. Candidates that meet most, but not all of the requirements, are encouraged to apply.
. More than 5 years experience in the installation, migration and demise of IT equipment within Data Centres.
. Proven Stakeholder and Vendor Management skills.
. Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders.
. Good at report creation and presentation skill.
. Native Putonghua, good command of oral and written English and willing to present in English.
. Understanding of underpinning Mechanical and Electrical Engineering relating to critical facilities (e.g. Uninterruptible Power Supply, Generator, Gas Fire Suppression, etc.).
. Understanding of data Network and Cabling technologies, principles and products.
. General overview as to how a data centre is laid out and how modern server, storage and network infrastructure is integrated.
. An awareness of IT hardware, software, operations and networks.
. Working knowledge of Data Centre Infrastructure Management tools such as Nlyte.
. Experience in Service Management techniques including Problem, Change and Incident management.
. Skilled at Data Center Capacity Management.
. Proven technical awareness in an IT role.
. Awareness of risk management.
. Be able to enforce quality control, standards, policies and procedures.
. Familiar with local regulatory requirements affecting data centres.
. Strong teamwork, organization and complex problem resolution skills, able to demonstrate initiative.
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
. A team player, willing to help team members and contribute to HSBC goals.
. Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel etc.).
. Be able to coach and mentor team members.
Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
