Position Overview

Details of the Division and Team
Technology plays a critical role in Deutsche Bank's transformation. To ensure we will deploy technology and digital solutions in a substantially more comprehensive manner across the bank, Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) has been established as one technology division for the bank, driving an integrated IT, data, and security agenda across the bank. The function is responsible for implementing the bank's technology strategy focused on strengthening engineering expertise, introducing an agile delivery model, reducing administrative overheads, de-coupling assets within our IT estate for faster, cheaper deployment, as well as modernizing the bank's IT infrastructure with long-term investments and benefiting from cloud computing.
The Project manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing regulatory reporting projects and delivering IT solutions to meet DB China business and local regulatory requirements. In addition, the role is responsible for keeping the applications up-to-date and meet internal and external policy standard and procedures

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of regulatory reporting applications currently in production and ensure their stability for business operations

  • Working closely with Finance/Operations and other key stakeholders and counterparts to ensure the CTB (Change The Bank) and RTB (Run The Bank) business needs are delivered

  • Managing local projects to implement solutions for local regulatory requirements by

    • Detailed project planning and delivery control, including developing and maintaining detailed project plans

    • Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan, utilizing Agile methodology and managing co-ordination with other IT teams, vertically and laterally, external vendors and Business stakeholders

    • Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary

    • Devising effective mitigation and escalation strategies for projects to address risks and issues

    • Providing status reports to the project sponsor and IT management

    • Performing project lessons learned, evaluation and dissemination activities

  • According to the Bank's Standards to ensure projects are scoped, initiated and approved when starting, managed through their life, and closed appropriately

  • Ensures that the project is planned and maintained in a manner that delivers to the required cost and quality and within the scope, including appropriate milestone definition, resources, work breakdown structure, dependencies, and assumptions

  • Ensures that the project work is executed and implemented according to the plan and project management standards

  • Supporting the Project Management Committee and Lead Project Management Officer / Program Manager in the management and oversight of the program and work streams

  • Ensures relevant and appropriate analysis, management information, and reporting is provided. This will include attending and presenting at governance forums

  • Ensures that requirements, plans, risks, issues, actions, costs, schedules, benefits, and other related project artefacts are documented and tracked

Your skills and experience
Required skills:

  • Come from a solid IT Project/ portfolio management background, with minimum 5-10 years of experience in IT including application development, system/process analysis and project management with at least 6 years of experience in Financial Industry

  • Have strong experience in managing vendors and regulator provided applications

  • Have strong bi-lingual communication skills: Mandarin-Chinese and English

  • Undergraduate Degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent diploma / work experience)

  • Experience in vendor management including contracts, SLAs, KPIs etc

  • Certification in PMP will be an added advantage

Desirable skills:
Exposure to China Local Regulatory applications, General Ledger & Financial reporting
