Specialist / Assistant Specialist (IT Support) (two posts)

Duties


The appointees will be the members of the User Services Section and required to:

(a) provide regular checking, troubleshooting, and maintenance services of classrooms and the AV/IT equipment of Student Computing Centres;

(b) provide consultation and assistant on IT to the University's users at ITS HelpCentre via hotline, onsite and other established channels;

(c) install software, patches and images onto the desktops of classrooms and Student Computing Centres and staff users;

(d) liaise with users, staff, students and other parties to solve users problems;

(e) assist in the AV/IT improvement projects of classrooms;

(f) prepare reports and logs for daily operations and projects;

(g) evaluate and test AV/IT hardware and software products;

(h) prepare user guides and training materials, and conduct user training demonstrations and workshops; and

(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.

The appointee will be required to work on shift and provide support on a roster basis as required.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree, or a higher diploma or diploma with not less than three years of relevant experience;

(b) knowledge on Windows, Mac, mobile/tablet, Microsoft Office, O365 and Zoom;

(c) good interpersonal skills; and

(d) the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.

Preference will be given to those with knowledge of and working experience in user and AV/IT support.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Appointment will be on a one-year gratuity-bearing contract.

The posts are funded by the Job Creation Scheme (JCS) under Anti-epidemic Fund of the Government. Applicants should be Hong Kong residents with a valid Hong Kong Identity Card. Existing staff members of the University are not eligible for application under the JCS.
